Asserting that the entertainment show must go on during the pandemic period, Magnet Media Films, producers of National Award-winning Dhummas, has announced the commencement of Gujarati web series “Vath Vath Ma” shooting.
Dhollywood Superstar Malhar Thakar has been roped in to play the lead role while rising star Pooja Joshi will be romancing him.
Speaking to the media, Malhar Thakar said, “I prefer to experiment with challenging roles to show my versatility. Am waiting for an opportunity to act in a sports-based film. Being an actor one has to rejuvenate his body and mind. This corona-induced lockdown has taught me a lot about healthcare and fitness. Now, I am constantly going gymming and fitness.”
When asked about his role in this web series, Malhar said, “A couple could not go for vacation due to the sudden imposition of lockdown caused by a coronavirus and stay put in their bungalow. They have the company of an advocate-friend. How the trio tackles the impact of the pandemic with innovative ideas and romance is the story. It is nothing but a stressbuster.”
Talking about his work front in 2021, Malhar said “I have to complete the films stalled by the lockdown besides signing three new films. And also producing two films.”
Lead actress Pooja Joshi said, “ I have started my artiste career with Gujarati cinema. Pairing with a veteran actor like Malhar is a great learning experience.”
The web series script is written by Bhargav Trivedi and directed by Kartavya Shah. Along with them, actors Chetan Dahiya and Krupa Pandya also play in important roles.
Commenting on this, Bhavesh Upadhyay, Producer, said, “We are very excited to announce the Gujarati web series “Vath Vath Ma”. Today we are witnessing a behavioral change in the content preferences of the viewers and in a situation where there are very few Gujarati series on the OTT platform, I am confident that our new series will provide the fresh and best content to the viewers. Besides, our new series can be enjoyed sitting with all the family members while viewers always complain that the web series in other languages on the OTT platform is full of abusive language.”
The shooting of this romantic web series will be completed in 12 days and in three months – March – it will be released on the leading OTT platforms. The series has a total of five episodes and will be shot in Ahmedabad.
Magnet Media Film Production Company produces films in Gujarati, Hindi and English languages and also distributes them abroad. In the last few years, Magnet Media has emerged as a reputed brand in the Gujarati film industry. It has previously completed the Dhummas film with National Award winners Jayesh More and Kinjal Rajpriya. Magnet Media distributes films in 16 countries.
The series will be shot in strict compliance with the guidelines issued by the administration related to Covid-19, which includes necessary arrangements such as regular use of masks, sanitizers, and the presence of a doctor.
