A woman never lives for herself during her complete life. She lives for others as a daughter, sister, mother, wife and lady love but she rarely gets due respect and return of her hard work. In a nutshell, she is the symbol sacrifice. Her ‘Aasha’ is always buried in her heart and not fulfilled ever.
‘Aasha’, the first women-centric film based on the struggles of two urban lovers, is bank roled by Amit B Patel under the banner of Shree Movie Developers and directed by Asdhok Karlekar who had experiences in Hindi and Marathi film industries.
This film’s story, dialogues were written by Shivkumar Koli, a cine veteran with over 25 years of experience. Questioned on what inspired him to write this story, Koli said this film well portrays the selfless sacrifice of women in our society. Our present-day society is the inspiration for the story.
Engineer-turned-actor Dilip Patel is making his debut in this film as a hero. Having completed his graduation in engineering, Dilip Patel, hailing from a village in Gujarat-Rajasthan border, wanted to give shape to his childhood passion of becoming an actor in silver screen. For this, he had undergone acting course in the dream city of Mumbai and started acting in theatres.
When asked why did he agree to play second fiddle to a woman in his very first movie, Patel said his character ‘Deepak’ has a limited scope for a newcomer but gave him excellent chance to prove his mettle. The workshops conducted before the shooting were of immense help to play his character well.
The leading lady of the film Vimmy Bhatt is a trained Bharata Natyam Dancer and Femin Miss India semi-finalist. She is a well-known actress who had earlier acted in two other Gujarati films and some Hindi web series.
Asked about her methodology of choosing a film, Bhatt said that the character was primary and script as secondary. For ‘Aasha’, she was called for an audition and then given the chance of playing the character named ‘Aasha’. Although she loved to act in this vital women-centric role, she opined that there is not much difference between both genders as there rae equal in all respects.
‘Aasha’ is a film based on female power that makes every woman proud of her womanhood. This film has become a topic of discussion in villages and big cities these days. Everyone is confident that the coming era will be truly feminine. The culture is also becoming an inspiration for women.
The hero of the film Deepak who loves Aasha insanely gets punished for loving more than expected. What’s wrong with his parents calling him a lamp, a lamp that illuminates in the dark and gives light to people? He shows the way, that even after he gets dry, his destiny is darkened, and even those to who he gave light, forget him. Even if he did so much for others, let’s see what his fate is.
What happened to the love of Aasha and Deepak? Did the restrictions imposed by the society ban them or did the two unite by breaking the shackles imposed by the society?
