AHMEDABAD, MAY 26

Shani Jayanti, the celebration of Lord Shani, also known as Shani Dev’s birth anniversary, will be observed with great devotion on Tuesday at centuries old Shri Nagarvel Hanuman Temple located on Amraiwadi-Rakhial Road in Ahmedabad. It is considered an ideal time to seek His blessings and reduce the malefic effects of Shani Dosha or Sade Sati, said Mahant Shri 1008 Shri Ranganathacharyaji Maharaj.

It is a time when devotees observe fasts and perform special rituals to seek His blessings and reduce negative effects in life, Shri Ranganathacharyaji Maharaj added.

“Preparations for Shani Janmotsav are in full swing at Shri Nagarvel Hanuman Temple. It is a powerful day for spiritual growth, karmic cleansing, and divine blessings. By following simple rituals, showing compassion, and staying honest, devotees can reduce the negative impact of Saturn and invite peace, prosperity, and success into their lives. Whether you’re going through difficult times or simply want to stay aligned with good karma, observing Shani Jayanti with faith can bring about real transformation,” the temple statement said.

“As usual Shani Mahotsav will be celebrated with great enthusiasm and pomp by the devotees. On the occasion of Shri Shani Jayanti on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, coinciding with Jyeshtha Amavasya, various religious programs have been organized at Shri Nagarvel Hanuman Temple from morning to evening,” the temple statement added.

According to the festival schedule, Oil Laghu Rudraksabhishekam will be performed to Lord Saturn from 10 am to 1 pm. Aiming to invoke Shani Dev’s blessings for global peace and prosperity, a Havan Puja will be performed from 6 pm to 8 pm. Mahaprasad distribution will be held from 7 pm to 9 pm. A grand Mahaaarti of Shri Shani Dev has been organized at 8.30 pm.

Devotees desirous of taking part in this Festival of Lord of Justice are requested to contribute mustard oil, black sesame seeds, black urad dal (black gram) and a combination of black clothing at the temple office and get the benign blessings of Laord Saturn

In astrology, Shani Dev is known to deliver justice by rewarding or punishing individuals based on their karma.
