Silambarasan TR or Simbu has been signed on to play a pivotal role in Mani Ratnam’s Kamal Haasan-starrer ‘Thug Life.’ The news was unveiled on Wednesday with a captivating introductory video, marking a significant addition to the cast.
It is jointly written by Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan while the film is directed by Mani Ratnam. Jointly produced under the banner of Raj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies and Red Giant Movies, the film stars the veteran actor in triple roles. Apart from him, ‘Thug Life’ also stars Trisha, Joju George, Nassar, Gautham Karthik and Vijaypuri in the prominent roles. The music of the film is composed by AR Rahman.

Fans are eagerly waiting for the makers to announce the release date of the film along with other updates. To keep the fans hinged to the film, the makers have shared a huge cast update of the movie. The makers have announced the latest addition to the film and it is none other than the actor and director Silambarasan TR.
The makers of ‘Thug Life’ have unveiled the first look of Silambarasan in the film. It has been released in the form of a poster and video. In the viral video, Silambarasan was seen riding a car on the dunes of a desert. At the end, the actor smiles while pointing towards the camera. The actor is expected to play the role of a cop in the movie as he was seen riding a police car in the video. Raaj Kamal Films International released the first look. It wrote, “In the realms of Dust, a New Thug Arises!” wrote the makers while releasing the first look of the actor.
According to reports, Silambarasan is now starring in the role which was first announced for Dulquer Salmaan. He was expected to play Kamal Haasan’s son in the film. However, the actor had to leave the project midway due to other commitments. Actor Jayam Ravi was also part of the project but had to leave it due to schedule conflicts.
