RaajKamal Films International (RKFI) & Sony Pictures International Productions announced that their much-awaited project “AMARAN”, will hit the screens this Diwali, 31st October 2024. Tamil Nadu theatrical distribution is by Red Giant Movies.
- It is based on the chapter “Major Varadharajan” from the book titled “India’s Most Fearless”, written by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh
- The film is jointly produced by Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan, R. Mahendran and Sony Pictures International Productions
It will be released in both Tamil and Telugu languages.
A poster featuring Sivakarthikeyan has been unveiled to announce the release date, promising an interesting film for fans. The announcement was made via a post on X on July 17. It read, “”There lived a man who never feigned to be a hero…” Let’s celebrate our #Amaran – #MajorMukundVaradarajan this Diwali. A film by @Rajkumar_KP #AmaranDiwali (sic).”
Written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, this film unfolds as an action emotional drama set against the breathtaking landscapes of Kashmir.
Prince Sivakarthikeyan headlines ‘Amaran’ with an intense performance in a never-seen-before avatar. Sharing the screen is the remarkable Sai Pallavi, adding profound emotional depth to the film.
The top-notch technical team includes Music Director G V Prakash, Production Designer Rajeevan, Art Director Sekar, Cinematographer CH Sai, Editor R. Kalaivanan, and Action Directors Anbariv Masters along with Stefan Richter and co-produced by God Bless Entertainment.

Following the 2022 blockbuster hit “Vikram,” Amaran arrives, reaffirming RKFI’s dedication to pushing boundaries and captivating audiences nationwide.
Netflix has bagged the digital rights for Amaran.
