Smt SR Mehta Arts College, a constituent of the Navgujarat Group of Colleges, recently organised a Poster Making Competition on ‘Cyber Security’, aimed at creating awareness among students about the growing importance of digital safety in today’s technology-driven society.
The event was organised as part of the initiatives of the NSS Wing of the college and witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 35 students, who creatively expressed their views on cyber threats, data protection and responsible online behaviour.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Darsha Jani said, “Cyber security is no longer a specialised concern but a shared responsibility. Through such creative platforms, students not only learn about digital risks but also become ambassadors of cyber awareness within society.”
She added that encouraging students to engage with contemporary issues through creativity helps build informed, responsible citizens.
The competition was coordinated by NSS Coordinators Nayana Chudasama and Tejani Munshi, who emphasised the relevance of the theme for young learners.
“Students today are deeply immersed in the digital world. This competition was designed to make them pause, reflect and understand the importance of safe online practices,” said Chudasama.
Munshi noted, “The posters reflected strong awareness and originality. Visual expression is a powerful medium, and the students effectively conveyed messages on cyber safety, caution and vigilance.”
The posters were evaluated on creativity, relevance to the theme and clarity of message, and three students were awarded for their outstanding entries. The event successfully combined creativity with social responsibility, reinforcing the college’s commitment to holistic education and digital literacy.
