Social e-grocery start-up DealShare on Thursday announced that it has received official permission from the collector and the police administrators to continue the uninterrupted supply of essentials in Ahmedabad. With this, DealShare becomes the first e-commerce player to have received this official permission from the administration in the State, a company release said.
Commenting on the support from the authorities, Vineet Rao, Founder & CEO, DealShare, said, “COVID-19 has created an unprecedented situation worldwide. The only effective way of combating the spread of the condition is by diligently following social distancing and staying indoors. We at DealShare have been offering our customers essentials at their doorsteps and helping them to follow the social distancing call. We are thankful to the government for acknowledging our efforts and supporting us.”
“The last 2-3 days were tough for our consumers as deliveries were getting impacted. Considering 25% of our consumers are senior citizens who are more prone to this condition, not being able to deliver to them was the toughest part. This official nod will help the residents of Ahmedabad, the local economy and the local manufacturers who look up to us to help them scale their business,” added Vineet Rao.
The permission will allow DealShare to provide an uninterrupted supply of home essentials to its 3 lakh customers in the state. Apart from customers, the sanction from the authorities will also benefit the more than 70 indigenous /local brands who have been selling home essentials like rice, sugar, atta, and oil on the platform. Also, the move will enable DealShare to extend their support to more than 300 retail and Kirana Store across the city
