South Central Railway General Manager Arun Kumar Jain on Tuesday presented “Man of the Month” safety awards to 12 employees who have shown alertness and dedication to the duty over the zone during a safety review meeting held at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.

“Shri Arun Kumar Jain presented the “Man of the month” safety awards to 12 employees (Secunderabad Division – 03, Hyderabad Division – 01, Vijayawada Division – 02, Guntakal Division – 03, Nanded Division – 01 and Guntur Division – 02) for showing alertness and taking timely action to prevent unsafe conditions. The employees belonged to various categories like Loco pilots, Station Masters, Technicians, Points man, Key/Gate Man and Track maintainers etc,” says a release.

The General Manager congratulated the awardees and appreciated them for the commitment in performing duties with utmost dedication. He also stated that these awards will motivate other employees to work sincerely with devotion towards safety, which will help the railways for safe operation of trains.
Later, Arun Kumar Jain conducted a detailed review of the safety of train operations over the zone. He stated that safety should be accorded the top priority. He instructed to continue the safety drives over the zone and to carryout surprise inspections to ensure alertness and avoid untoward incidents. He advised the officials to conduct regular counselling sessions for all field level staff, including loco pilots, shunters track maintainers, guards etc.,
The General Manager also conducted a detailed review on freight loading operations of the zone. Further, the General Manager also reviewed the progress of ongoing works pertaining to track renewals.
Dhananjayulu, Additional General Manager, also participated in the meeting along with all the Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.
