In consonance with the in the run-up to 75th Army Day Parade to be organised at Bengaluru on January 15, the Southern Command of Indian Army will launch an extensive outreach program, Vidyanjali Scheme, with selected schools. This initiative is the fourth of a series of events which was launched by the Prime Minister on on September 7, 2021 to strengthen Schools through community and private sector involvement.

- The scheme will cover 7 schools in Gujarat, 5 in Tamilnadu and the rest in various states, UTs
- The occasion will also be utilised to enhance awareness levels of the Army Day Parade which is being held for the first time in Southern India at Bengaluru on 15 January 2023
- The outreach programme launched tomorrow will continue throughout the year and will assist in bolstering the quality of education, infrastructure and amenities of the selected schools and showcase Indian Army’s commitment towards Nation Building.
In continuation with the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations commemorating 75 years of India’s Independence, 75 x Schools have been selected wherein voluntary activities are being planned on Friday.
Students & faculty members of 30 Army Public Schools will reach out to the nominated schools and will carry out a wide range of activities to include provision of books, stationary, reading material, medical camps by Army doctors, conduct of yoga, physical education classes, sports competitions etc.
Under this scheme, seven schools in Gujarat viz Pritampura Shala No 1 & 3, Girdhanagar and Jahangirpura Shala No 1, Opp Civil Hospital Ahmedabad; Pay Centre School No 1 & 3, Near Vyas K Chora, Dhrangadhra; and Govt Hindi School, RTO Rellocation, Bhuj and Govt Primary School, Ramnagri, Madhapar (Ramnagari Panchayat Prathamic Shala) will be covered.
In Tamil Nadu, Dr MGR Chantt High School, CSI St Thomas Hr Sec School, St Thomas Mount, and Nehru Govt Boys Hr Sec School, Nanganallur, Chennai; Cantt Bd Secondary School, Wellington and St Antony’s Higher Secondary School, Coonoor will be covered..
