The Southern Railway on Friday appealed to job aspirants to be a part of Railway’s mission in conducting fair and transparent recruitments through RRBs and RRCs and not to fall prey to unauthorized advertisements, scams
“It has come to the notice of Railways that many job aspirants fall prey to unauthorized advertisements and job racketeers promising employment in Railways against payment of huge sum of money.
- A complaint can be lodged in the nearest Police Station against anyone if a job aspirant is approached with promise of a Railway job and demands money
- Helpline Number 044 28213185 can be accessed for guidance and clarification of doubts
“It is reiterated that the recruitment process in Indian Railways is through RRB, RRC only. The recruitment of various categories of Group ‘C’ and erstwhile Group ‘D’ posts on Indian Railways is presently catered to by 21 Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and 16 Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) only and not by any other agency. Vacancies on Indian Railways are filled up after issuing Centralized Employment Notifications (CENs) and wide publicity is given for the same in Print media,” the statement added.

The Southern Railway further added that “On-line applications are called for from eligible candidates all over the country. CEN is published through Employment News/Rozgar Samachar and an indicative notice is given in National Dailies and Local Newspapers. The CEN is also displayed on the official websites of RRBs/RRCs. The website address of all RRBs/RRCs is mentioned in the CEN. Advertisements in Employment News/Newspapers or any information/ notices being circulated in the social media regarding RRBs may be verified from the official website of RRBs.
RRBs never appoint any Agent(s) or Coaching Centre(s) for action on its behalf. For any notice/information regarding Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), the candidates should visit official website of RRBs only.”
“The exams are fully computerized and the selection is based purely on the merit of the candidates. Job aspirants are requested to beware of touts and job racketeers trying to deceive by false promises of securing job in Railways either through influence, money or by any unfair means. Candidates found indulging in unfair means will be disqualified and shall be liable to legal action,” the awareness campaign added.
