Southern Railway on Wednesday announced running seven more special trains, including inter-state service between Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
The railways would operate trains between Karaikal in neighbouring Puducherry and Ernakulam in Kerala, an official release said.
The Southern Railway announced fully reserved special trains from Chennai-Egmore to Tirunelveli, Madurai (Tejas), Sengottai and Rameswaram and the various services would start between October 2-5.
Further, it would run the Chennai Egmore-Kollam and Dr MGR Chennai Central – Alappuzha Superfast Special Trains, the release added.
Special trains to be operated by Southern Railway are;
Reservations for all the above trains will open at 8 a.m. tomorrow (October 1, 2020)
Passenger should follow all Safety Protocols as prescribed by MHA Guidelines. All passengers shall be compulsorily screened and only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to enter /board the train.
Passengers travelling by these special services will observe the following precautions :
- Only passengers with Confirmed tickets shall be allowed to enter the
Railway station. - All passengers shall be wearing face covers/masks at the entry and
during travel. - The passengers shall reach the station at-least 90 minutes in advance to
facilitate thermal screening at the station. Only passengers who are found
asymptomatic will be permitted to travel.
All passengers are advised to download and use the Aarogya Setu application in their mobile.
No Linen, blankets and curtains shall be provided inside the train. Passengers are advised to carry their own linen for the travel. The temperature inside AC coaches shall be suitably regulated for this purpose, the release issued by Southern Railway said.
