In a timely push to professionalise communication in India’s fast-expanding space economy, the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), in collaboration with the Times School of Media, Bennett University, has launched a short-term course on Communication and Public Engagement in the Space Sector.
Designed as an intensive, interdisciplinary programme, the course responds to a growing national and global demand for professionals who can translate complex space science, policy and missions into clear, credible and engaging public narratives. With India’s private and public space ecosystem witnessing rapid momentum, the programme positions itself as a career-enabling upskilling opportunity across media, academia and industry.
The curriculum blends theory with real-world practice, bringing together space sector practitioners, senior media professionals and academic experts. Participants will gain hands-on exposure to media relations, crisis communication, digital storytelling, policy communication, and emerging domains such as AI-driven journalism—all within the context of space science and governance. Importantly, the course is aligned with national skill standards and industry requirements, ensuring immediate relevance and employability.
Highlighting the strategic intent behind the initiative, Dr. Vinod Kumar, Director, Promotion Directorate, IN-SPACe, said:
“This course reflects IN-SPACe’s commitment to building skilled human capital that can bridge the gap between space science and society. Recognition under the NCVET framework ensures that the competencies developed through this programme are benchmarked to national standards, giving participants a meaningful advantage as India’s space sector continues to expand.”
The programme will be led by seasoned faculty and domain specialists, with Mr. Gaurav Kumar, Assistant Director-PR, Promotion Directorate, IN-SPACe, serving as Course Director, ensuring strong linkage between policy, practice and public engagement.
Who should apply? The course is open to academicians, industry professionals, graduates, researchers, journalists and media practitioners keen to build specialised expertise in space communication and public engagement.
With registrations closing on 18 February 2026, aspirants looking to position themselves at the intersection of space, media, policy and public trust are encouraged to apply early and secure a seat in this niche, future-ready programme.
