COIMBATORE, JAN 11

Adiyogi at Isha Yoga Center, Coimbatore, among the most popular spiritual symbols in the world, was visited by 80 lakh people last year. On 1 January 2024, the first day of the English New Year, around 1 lakh 26 thousand people visited Adiyogi.

Lakhs of people from all over the world visit Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore to learn Yoga. Since the consecration of Adiyogi in 2017, the number of people visiting Isha daily has increased tremendously.

The number of pilgrims visiting Adiyogi on the way to Sabarimala is also increasing every year. A separate space has been created near the parking area for such devotees for cooking and eating, along with free toilet and shower facilities.

Visitors to Isha contribute significantly to Coimbatore’s tourism-based transport sector. Local communities, including tribal communities, who have set up shops on the way to Adiyogi, local taxi drivers, restaurants and lodges have reported increased income, contributing directly or indirectly to the economy related to spiritual tourism in Coimbatore.
