Reaching the summit of Girnar is a child’s play now. All that one has to do is meticulous planning and a mere click on the net. Now, you can make the visit even more convenient by booking the tickets for a ride in the newly inaugurated Girnar ropeway online, says a company release.
Passenger ropeway pioneer Usha Breco, which has built the 2.3 km ropeway at Girnar, has launched online ticket booking for the ropeway from November 1.

“The online booking facility for Girnar ropeway tickets is aimed at the convenience of passengers, especially those coming from other cities and states. We were getting a lot of inquiries about online ticket availability and we have started the facility just before the peak festival season,” said Deepak Kaplish, Regional Head-West, Usha Breco.
Tickets for Girnar ropeway can be booked on the website www.udankhatola.com. The users also have the option of choosing the time slot for the ropeway travel.
Girnar ropeway, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 24, is getting a very good response from the users.
“The response to the ropeway is very good. The daily traffic is going up. In just a week, more than 16,000 thousand people have availed of the ropeway service. It has made a visit to Girnar possible for the elderly, young children, as well as the specially-abled. We are confident that the ropeway will become the preferred means of travel to the mountain top in the coming days,” said Kaplish.
Besides having the most modern and sophisticated ropeway, the project comprises an air-conditioned waiting area, child care rooms, lavatories, and other amenities.
The ropeway is expected to give a major boost to tourism and allied activities and employment generation in the whole of Saurashtra.
“Tourism was worst-hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are confident that the ropeway will boost tourism in Girnar and also in other tourist destinations such as Somnath, Dwarka, Diu, etc.,” he added.
