Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research on Tuesday announced it has set up an innovation and incubation centre for climate change and sustainability.
Inaugurating the incubation centre, Chandrashekar Kupperi, Founder ANOVA, M & A, said, “Entrepreneurs and venture fund investors are looking for innovative ideas to tackle climate change and promote one health. The ‘one health expo’ organised for school children on this occasion will help foster new ideas and start-ups to tap the vast market that is rapidly unfolding globally.”
He asked the young minds to look for big problems that affect a huge population, go to their roots and come out with a business model and tie up a team for the start-up to compete in the world and succeed.
Baskaran, Chairman, Industrial Waste Management Association said, “Industries are now focusing on continuous recycling of wastes so that in the end there is no waste at all.”
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Mahesh Vakamudi, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dr. Kalpana Balakrishnan, Dean Research, SRIHER said, “There is an urgent and great demand for public health experts globally and SRIHER offers a unique ambiance to specialise and promote start-ups in this field.”
Dr. S. Sankar, HoD, Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Public Health said, “Students, researchers and industrial representatives can join the innovation and incubation centre and promote new ventures to tackle climate change.”
