Acknowledging the significant role of insurance company officials in broadening health insurance coverage, SRM Global Hospitals, one of the city’s largest multispeciality healthcare providers, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the General Insurance Agents’ Federation Integrated (GIAFI), a leading association representing employees of major public-sector health insurance companies, to offer free consultations and a range of other benefits to their 9,000-odd members across the country.
According to the MoU, beneficiaries will receive a completely free initial consultation, along with discounts on OPD consultations and investigation fees, as well as cash benefits if out-of-pocket payments are necessary for treatments exceeding insurance coverage. The agreement is renewable every two years. These benefits can also be availed of by the family members of GIAFI members and their customers of mediclaim insurance products.
