The Staff Selection Commission has published a Notification inviting applications for “Junior Engineer, (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical And Quantity Surveying & Contracts) Examination, 2022”on August 12, 2022.
The Commission will hold an open competitive examination for recruitment of Junior Engineers, (Civil Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveying & Contracts) for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India. Candidates from all parts of the country will be eligible to apply, says KNagaraja, Regional Director, Staff Selection Commission Southern Region
Candidates applying for the posts must have completed a diploma or degree in the relevant field — civil, mechanical, electrical and quantity surveying and contracts along with two years of experience.
The upper age limit is 32 years as on January 1, 2022.
The application fee is Rs 100 for general category candidates. Those belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), are ex-serviceman or are female, are exempted from paying the fee.
There will be two papers in SSC JE. The paper 1 will be held in the computer-based exam (CBE) on November. It will be a computer based objective type exam while the paper will be a written exam. Those who clear paper 1 will be allowed to write paper 2. Those who clear the second paper will have to go through a document verification process.
In the paper 1, there will be 50 questions from general intelligence and reasoning and general awareness each. The exam pattern includes 100 questions on general engineering. The total marks is 200 and it will be held for a duration of two hours. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
Applications must be submitted in online mode only through Commission’s website ssc.nic.in . The last date for submission of online applications is 02.09.2022 (23:00 pm) and last date for making online fee payment is 03.09.2022 (23:00 P.M.) In the online application form, candidates are required to upload scanned photograph and signature. Photograph should be without cap and spectacles.
In Southern Region, the Computer Based Examination will be held in November, 2022 in 21 Centres/Cities as follows: 10 Centres in Andhra Pradesh; 7 Centres in Puducherry and 3 Centre in Telangana.
