AHMEDABAD, JULY 30
Over 700 ex-servicemen in the state will begin their second innings as security guards following the joint initiative of Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited and the Directorate of Sainik Welfare and Rehabilitation Board, a joint release said.

“Under this initiative, 723 Ex-Servicemen were recruited on a contract basis for a period of 11 months at the fixed-wage rate of Rs. 20,839 per month. They will be deployed 24 hours a day in 3 shifts of 8 hours each at 235 district, taluka level godowns or warehouses of the corporation. The selection was done by organizing a draw on Tuesday at the Head Office of the Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited in Gandhinagar,” the release added.

The draw was held under the Chairmanship of Tushar M Dholakia, MD of the Corporation, and in the presence of representatives from the Home Department of State Government.
Commenting on this special recruitment drive, Tushar M Dholakia said, “Efforts have been made to make sure that all the recruited Ex-Servicemen are allotted duties near their native places. The corporation has directly recruited Ex-Servicemen and wages will also be paid by the Corporation. Selected candidates will have to report to the allotted places of postings shortly.”
