Brass sculpture of Late Chhotalal Dalpatram Trivedi, the founder, pioneer of development, educationist, and philanthropist of Devinagar station area was unveiled by his family members Madhubhai Trivedi, Jaya Ben, Keur Bhai and Jigneshbhai at Khedbrahma on Saturday.
The statue was designed by renowned sculpture artist Rachna Dave, who has 18 years of experience.
Talking about this statue, Rachna Dave said, “This brass statue of Shri Chhotalal ji weighs 400 kg and it took us 3 months to make this statue. His stature, his physical structure, and his dress were designed from his age-old photograph and then it was cast into a statue. First the statue is made of clay and then it is wrapped in fiber, molded and cast with brass metal. The statue has also been treated with bandaged coatings to protect it from the adverse effects of the environment.”
A true community builder, Chhotalal gave his own farm to the town planners to build a settlement in Khedbrahma. Moreover, he rendered many services in the Khedbrahma area like building wells, primary schools, making arrangements for cattle, building temples and doing many public works for the society. He worked for the development of every community and also gave plots to people at low cost.
Rachnaben Dave, Founder of Finesse Art Studio and Firm which is located in Rakhiyal area of Ahmedabad. She has studied Fine Arts from prestigious CN Vidyalaya. She has been involved with various projects of sculptures, murals and art work for many years. Currently, she is working on a brass metal statue of Iron Man of India Shri Vallabhbhai Patel as well.
