When knowledge meets curiosity and curiosity meets competition, the classroom suddenly becomes a launchpad for bigger dreams. That spirit came alive in Ahmedabad as young quizzers turned the spotlight on knowledge, technology, teamwork and quick thinking at the Ahmedabad edition of TCS InQuizitive 2026, with a duo from Zydus School for Excellence, Vejalpur, emerging at the top of a fiercely contested field.
Anamaya Sharma and Pramitnil Maiti of Zydus School for Excellence, Vejalpur, emerged winners of the Ahmedabad edition of TCS InQuizitive 2026, earning a place in the semi-finals of the prestigious national inter-school quiz.
Hosted by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the flagship quiz brought together more than 500 students in 233 teams representing 32 schools, with participation extending beyond Ahmedabad to schools from Anand, Gandhinagar, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, Vapi and Udaipur.
The competition was not merely a test of memory. It challenged students to connect the dots across diverse subjects, think critically under pressure, collaborate effectively and demonstrate the problem-solving skills increasingly demanded in a technology-driven world.
STEM takes centre stage
This year’s edition placed a stronger spotlight on STEM and emerging technologies, with questions spanning artificial intelligence, cloud computing, automation, biometrics and robotics alongside education, entertainment, sports, business trends, advertising and social media.
Adding a futuristic dimension to the contest, TCS introduced real-time AI-powered analytics, enabling participants to access detailed performance insights after each round and identify areas where they could improve.
The event was graced by Dharmendra Singh, Director, Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara, as Chief Guest, along with Namrata Somani, Regional Head, TCS Ahmedabad, who represented TCS on the dais.
‘Immense potential of our youth’
Namrata Somani said, “Ahmedabad’s legacy of enterprise and innovation is complemented by a vibrant culture of learning, and this year’s TCS InQuizitive participants exemplify that spirit. The remarkable enthusiasm, knowledge, and collaborative mindset displayed by the students reaffirm the immense potential of our youth. As the competition grows more competitive every year, participants continue to raise the standard of excellence. We extend our congratulations to all the teams for making this edition a memorable celebration of curiosity and learning and wish the champions great success at the national semi-finals.”
Answering a query on the ratio of girls and boys taking part in the quiz, she said, “there is no gender difference. However, for the last many editions the number of participants has been increasing steadily. Girls have been showing their enthusiasm very well, which is a welcome one.”
From classroom curiosity to national stage
Open to students from Grades 8 to 12, TCS InQuizitive blends learning with the excitement of a high-energy quiz format, encouraging participants to move beyond textbooks and engage with the rapidly changing world around them.
Now in its 28th year, TCS InQuizitive has evolved into one of India’s prominent inter-school quiz platforms, inspiring generations of students to explore new ideas, broaden their perspectives and cultivate a deeper understanding of contemporary developments.
12-city quest for the national crown
The 2026 edition is being conducted across Pune, Indore, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai, before culminating in the National Finale.
The country’s brightest young quizzers will eventually converge at the national stage to battle for the coveted title of TCS InQuizitive National Champions 2026.
For Ahmedabad’s victorious duo, the journey has already moved to the next level. Their triumph is not just a quiz victory—it is a celebration of curiosity, collaboration and STEM-powered young minds ready to question, connect and conquer.
