Tamil Nadu Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department Vikram Kapoor gave three success mantras – never be content with your achievements, never compete with others and strive hard to better version of them.

Participating as Chief Guest at the 22nd Graduation ceremony and Silver Jubilee celebrations of Alpha Arts and Science College here on Wednesday, Vikram Kapoor said, “Life is full of uncertainty, and we have to live with it. We need to realise that we cannot change events but can change the way we face them. Everything is evolving and changing rapidly, and we need to adapt to the changes to survive. For that we have to be aware of the things happening around us and have to learn continuously. So, the most important lesson for you all is to never be content with your achievements. At the same time never compete with others. Strive to become a better version of you. Whatever you do in life, take pride in it. Gradually strive to achieve excellence. Wednesday (March 23) happens to be the martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, who is the finest youth that India has ever produced. Take inspiration from all our freedom fighters, who inspired the nation to nurture the people around them.”

As many as 718 students were graduated, and prizes were distributed to the Best Outgoing students.

Dr Grace George, Chairperson, Alpha Group of Institutions, said, “The underlying philosophy at Alpha is to create new benchmarks by incorporating new initiatives in the field of education through modern and innovative teaching and learning methodologies. Imparting right knowledge, enhancing wisdom and creating distinct individuals is our pursuit. Alpha prides itself in not only being an institution imparting life’s latest know-how but also instilling human core values.”

Suja George, Vice Chairperson, Alpha Group of Institutions, said, ”The 22nd Graduation day of Alpha Arts and Science College is a significant milestone as the College is celebrating the Silver Jubilee this year marking two decades of yeomen service. The College aims at providing holistic value-based education with a focus to equip students with knowledge and skills for gainful employment. To achieve this, the institution provides enriched curriculum and value-added programmes to bridge industry academia gaps. Alpha has entered into strategic industry partnerships for industry relevant training to enhance employability skills and achieve high quality placements with top notch companies.

“We, at Alpha, aspire to make every student in our care, blossom into responsible and intellectual adults who would be life-long learners and agents of transformation, who would contribute to national and global development as worthy citizens. In keeping with its motto Seek, Share and Serve, Alpha continues to contribute to the society with empathy and benevolence,” she added.

Dr A Sivasankar, Principal, Alpha Group of Institutions said, “An ambience that fosters learning and ensures overall development of the budding citizens of the country is of paramount importance. We at Alpha strive to extend that ambience to ensure knowledge, skills, values and emotional development. We provide acquisition rich learning environment that accommodates styles, models and diversity. Our priority is to make any learner to think and evolve an appetite for curricular rigour. The co-curricular immersion, honing of employable skills and placement drive would be the testimony to the statement made by Mahatma Gandhi – Education must result in employment.”

The graduation day ceremony was also attended by Dr. Sultan Ahmed Ismail, Member, State Planning Commission, Tamil Nadu, Dr K Saleem Ali, IPS (Rtd.), Former Member of National Disaster Management Authority, DGP of Tripura & Special Director of CBI, Dr Grace George, Chairperson, Alpha Group of Institutions.

Dr Benita Merlin delivered the vote of thanks.
