With over 26% of our manufacturing employees being women, ReNew remains committed to reaching its goal of having 30% women in its workforce by 2030, said a top official of the company here on Friday.
ReNew Power (ReNew), India’s leading renewable energy company, in collaboration with Self-Employed Women’s Association of India (SEWA) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) India organised a stakeholder consultation for advancing women’s participation in renewable energy in Gujarat here on Friday.
Attended by senior officials from Government of India and Government of Gujarat, and leading renewable energy players from India, the discussions revolved around solving for the challenges that hinder women’s participation in the sector, the opportunities that exists in line with the 500 GW RE target, and the role industry has to play creating skilled human resource to bridge the gap.
Among the dignitaries present were Vinit Kumar, IAS, CEO, KVIC; Bhakti Shamal, Joint Secretary, Energy, Gujarat; Ajay Prakash, IAS, Head, Gujarat Energy Development Agency. ReNew’s Chief Operating Officer Balram Mehta attended the event along with Atul Bagai, Head UNEP India Office, Reema Nanavaty, Director, SEWA.
