The much awaited Superstar Rajinikanth’s next project “Annaatthe” shooting, which was suspended due to COVID-19 from March, is expected to resume from next month in Chennai. The film is expected to hit the screens on Pongal 2021, according to Sun Pictures.
Kollywood circles said that the producers of the film has started the set work of the movie in ECR Road in Chennai ECR. The sources suggest that the team will shoot the combination scenes of the leading ladies, Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh before Rajinikanth starts shooting for his portions. Reportedly, the superstar has already finished shooting for about 50 percent of portions in the movie.
The reports also suggest that Jackie Shroff, the senior Bollywood actor has been approached to appear as the lead antagonist in the Rajinikanth starrer. If things fall in places, Annaatthe will mark the popular actor’s onscreen collaboration with the superstar, after a long gap of 30 years. However, it was not confirmed officially by the producers.
Along with the lady superstar, Nayanthara and National award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh, senior actresses Khushboo, and Meena also appear as the female leads in Annaatthe. According to sources close to the project, Nayanthara is appearing as the female lead opposite Rajinikanth in the movie, while Keerthy Suresh plays the role of his daughter.
The mass entertainer, which is scripted by director Siva himself, will feature Prakash Raj, Soori, Sathish, Vela Ramamoorthy, George Maryan, and so on in the other pivotal roles. D Imman composes the music, while Vetri handles the cinematography. Annaatthe is bankrolled by the prestigious banner, Sun Pictures of the Sun TV conglomerate.
