Ordnance Clothing Factory Avadi (OFAV), a Defence production unit of Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), Kolkata functioning under the Ministry of Defence has been entrusted with the task of manufacturing of PPEs such as Coveralls, Surgical Masks and Non-surgical Masks by the central government in this hour of COVID-19 crisis.
OCFAV had received order for supplying of 30000 coveralls and 4 Lakh surgical masks from Government of India. The first consignment of surgical masks of 25000 numbers successfully dispatched along with 1500 coveralls from OCFAV in the presence of Surjit Das, IOFS today (April 18).
OCFAV had already dispatched 1100 coveralls during last week. Moreover, The OCFAV has ramped up the production of coveralls and surgical masks in the past few days to complete the order quantity within the stipulated time. OCFAV is also supplying non-medical masks to Civil Authorities such as Local Administration, Tamil Nadu Police, CRPF, Railways, Banks, Post Office and other allied establishments of both Central and State Governments, a release from Defence PRO said.
