The Indian Air Force (IAF) will set the skies ablaze with patriotic splendour on October 31, 2025, as the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) performs a breathtaking air display over the Statue of Unity in Kevadiya to commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) — marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.
The celebrations will begin with IAF helicopters showering flower petals over the world’s tallest statue — a stirring gesture honouring Patel’s legacy as the architect of India’s unity. This will be followed by a nine-aircraft Suryakiran formation, performing high-precision aerobatic manoeuvres and painting the serene Kevadiya skies with the vibrant colours of the Indian Tricolour.
The majestic aerial tribute will embody the discipline, precision, and teamwork that define the Indian Air Force, symbolising the enduring vision of Sardar Patel’s dream of a united and resilient India.
Instituted by the Government of India, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas reaffirms the nation’s commitment to unity, integrity, and security. The venue at Kevadiya — nestled on the banks of the Narmada River — holds deep national significance as the site of the Statue of Unity, an eternal emblem of Sardar Patel’s contribution to national integration.
Thousands of visitors and citizens are expected to gather at the site to witness this awe-inspiring aerial spectacle — a fusion of patriotism, pride, and precision — as the Indian Air Force salutes the spirit of unity that binds the nation together.
