CHENNAI, SEPT 11
Social Venture Partners India (SVP India), a venture philanthropy community, has marked a significant milestone by launching its eighth chapter in the vibrant city of Chennai on Monday. This strategic move not only solidifies SVP India’s presence across all major metro cities in the country, but also reinforces its commitment to fostering engaged philanthropy and social impact.
SVP India’s Chennai chapter has already recruited 25 partners, who are individuals interested in getting involved with the social sector in a hands-on way. These visionary partners, united by a shared passion for creating meaningful social impact, are set to embark on a transformative journey as ‘Engaged Philanthropists’. An SVP partner involvement goes beyond donations, as they also pledge their invaluable time and skills towards driving social progress.
Piyush Bhandari, a Chartered Accountant and Managing Partner of IMC Group, will lead the Chennai chapter. His two decades of experience in diverse areas, such as knowledge management, strategic initiatives, and digital transformation, will be instrumental in nurturing the growth and capacities of NGOs based in Chennai, especially those working in the areas of education, livelihood, and women empowerment.
Govind Iyer, All India Chairperson, SVP India said, “The addition of the Chennai chapter to the SVP India network is a significant leap forward in our mission to drive positive, lasting change. This launch also aligns with our ambitious goal to increase our overall partner network by ~25% in the upcoming fiscal year. As we grow our network in India, we are creating a powerful force for good. By uniting people who share a common vision, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of those who need it most.”
Echoing these sentiments, Piyush Bhandari, Chennai Chapter Chairperson, SVP India, stated, “I am truly honoured to lead the Chennai chapter. I am confident that the collective expertise and passion of our partners will play a pivotal role in propelling social impact and empowering NGOs in our region. By leveraging our skills, time and network, we are poised to bring about transformative changes the lives of many people.”
