The event also marks 50th anniversary of victory in Battle of Nagi. The Nagi War Memorial stands on the hallowed grounds where 21 of our soldiers laid down their lives to defend the honour of the motherland against Pakistan Army’s aggression ten days after the ceasefire was declared in the 1971 War.

While India is celebrating Swarnim Vijay Varsh as Golden Year of Victory of 1971 War, the efforts by the army, civil administration and the people of Nagi for honouring the heroes of Battle of Nagi was admirable. The coordination between the military, civil administration and local population will go a long way in nation building.
