JODHPUR, JULY 5
As part of celebrations of 50 years of India’s triumph over Pakistan in the 1971 war, the victory flame was received with tremendous fervour at Jodhpur Military Station in Rajasthan on Saturday.

As part of the year-long Swarnim Vijay Varsh Celebrations, four Victory Flames were lit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at National War Memorial on December 16, 2020, which were sent to four cardinal directions.
To mark the event at Jodhpur, the Victory Flame was taken to the historical monuments ‘Mehrangarh Fort’ and ‘Umaid Bhawan’ on Sunday. The flame was also taken to Regiments of Indian Army at Jodhpur, where it was honoured by all ranks. A grand commemorative event was conducted on Monday at the Jodhpur War Memorial which was attended by Lieutenant General P S Minhas, General Officer Commanding, Konark Corps, veterans and other Military and Civil dignitaries of Jodhpur. After the event, the victory flame was taken to Headquarters of the Border Security Force.
The Victory Flame will be taken to residence/village of Late Air Vice Marshal Chandan Singh at Jodhpur on Monday, and Late Lieutenant Colonel Megh Singh at Jodhpur on Tuesday, Late Grenadier Mangal Singh at Nimboo ka Talaab, Osian on Wednesday and Late Brigadier Udai Singh Bhati at Garha, Shergarh on Thursday.
At all these places, the Gallantry Award Winners will be honoured and soil of their home will be collected.

The Victory Flame will also visit the Air Force Station, Jodhpur on Tuesday. The Martyrs or war heroes of 1971 war of Indian Air Force and the Victory Flame will be honoured. Then the Victory Flame will depart to Jaisalmer on Thursday.
