Swarnim Vijay Varsh Victory Flame reached Military Station at Dhrangadhra in Gujarat on Sunday. India is celebrating the 50th anniversary of military victory over Pakistan in 1971 with commemorative events in different parts of the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had lit up the ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh Victory Flame’ at the National War Memorial (NWM) in Delhi on December 16, 2020, which was directed in four cardinal directions. One of the victory flames travelling due West reached Military Station Dhrangadhra on Sunday, a release said.
The Swarnim Vijay Varsh Victory Flame was welcomed with solemn ceremony of reception with a grand welcome by from the people of Dhrangadhra led by local MLA and civil dignitaries. Soldiers, NCC cadets and students from Army Public School and Kendriya Vidyalaya participated in ‘Last Mile Run’ with great enthusiasm.
Station Commander, Military Station Dhrangadhra thereafter, received the Victory Flame at the Sarvatra War Memorial to mark the event and to pay homage to the heroic soldiers who made supreme sacrifice for their motherland, wreath was laid by the senior most present veteran Captain Sudhir Kumar (Retd) and the Station Commander.
This event was graced by 1971 War Veterans, Veer Naris, renowned civil dignitaries and serving soldiers of the Station.
