Commenting on the initiative, Adi Jain, Vice President, Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University, said, “As we approach Rakshabandhan, a festival that symbolises protection and care, Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University stands united in our commitment to the safety and dignity of women, both on and off our campus. The tragic incident involving a young doctor in Kolkata has deeply shaken our community. At Swarrnim, we believe that every individual, especially those in the medical and paramedical fields, deserves to work and take education in a safe, secure and dignified environment. We are committed to ensuring that this pledge is more than just words—it is a call to action that we will uphold every day.”

As part of the initiative, every member of the Swarrnim community pledged to create a safe, secure and dignified environment for women employees at all levels. The pledge is a proactive initiative of the university to build and encourage a culture of respect and dignity on campus.

Shreya Pandya, a Nursing Officer at Swarrnim University said, “In India, we celebrate numerous festivals from Shravana to Navratri to Diwali, where goddesses are revered with great devotion. However, the reverence seems superficial when such grievous incidents occur in our country. True respect for women must be instilled in society, transcending mere rituals of worship. Before bowing to idols, both men and women should learn to honour the dignity and rights of every woman. We stand united in demanding justice for the doctor in Kolkata.”
