Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University celebrated World Intellectual Property Day by organising an expert session on the theme ‘Empowering Innovation in Academia: Leveraging IP for Institutional and Individual Growth’ on Saturday. The session was conducted by Dr Preeti Chothani and was attended by 45 faculty members.

Held from on Saturday at the university campus, the session provided valuable insights into the fundamentals and strategic importance of Intellectual Property (IP). Dr Chothani talked about a variety of subjects right from the most basic definition and types of IP Rights and the need for IP protection to India’s IP ecosystem to the benefits of IP for institutions and individuals to IP filing as a growth catalyst for faculty to challenges in IP management, and strategies for effectively leveraging IP.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A where Dr Chothani addressed queries from the participants.
