Setting the stage for cross-border cooperation in innovation, entrepreneurship and incubation, Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University based in Gandhinagar, India on Wednesday announced a significant milestone for Swarrnim Incubation Centre. The centre has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Business Promotion Centre under Pokhara Metropolitan Corporation, Nepal. The collaboration marks the Swarrnim Incubation Centre’s first-ever partnership with an international startup ecosystem stakeholder.
The MoU was formalised by Jiten Thakkar, Incubation Manager at Swarrnim Incubation Centre, and Shivraj Chaulagai, Chief Administrative Officer of the Pokhara Metropolitan Corporation of Nepal. The MoU signing ceremony took place in the presence of Dhanraj Acharya from Pokhara Metropolitan Corporation, underscoring the significance of this international alliance.
The idea behind the collaboration is to nurture startups in sectors that particularly support Pokhara, Nepal in bolstering tourism. That apart the focus will also be on enterprises operating in the technology, agriculture and health sectors. The expertise of Swarrnim Incubation Centre lies in nurturing startups from ideation to prototype. This way, both the institutions will jointly work on development of new startups and help cultivate an entrepreneurship mindset for students as well.
This partnership is set to unlock new opportunities for the promotion of startups and innovation in both regions. As part of the collaboration, the two organisations will host joint workshops, organise incubation programs, and other startup-related activities with a view to support entrepreneurs and innovators in India and Nepal. Additionally, both parties will collaborate on sharing knowledge and resources to further promote entrepreneurship and help enhance the startup ecosystem at a global scale.

The alliance also aims to strengthen ties between India and Nepal in the field of entrepreneurship by encouraging meaningful collaborations among budding entrepreneurs.
