Stating that the foundation for India’s future success lies in modernizing its educational system, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan encouraged the graduating students ‘to take forward their knowledge, creativity, and innovative thinking’ to drive meaningful change in their communities and beyond.

The Chief Guest, Dharmendra Pradhan, in his virtual address at the 8th Convocation Ceremony of GLS University here on Wednesday, captivated the audience with his reflections on the transformative power of education and its role in shaping India’s future. He highlighted the significance of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizing its vision for an inclusive and holistic education system. He stressed that the foundation for India’s future success lies in modernizing its educational system through the NEP 2020, which aims to foster innovation, critical thinking, and adaptability to meet the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

While applauding GLS University’s achievements and endeavours, which is a testament to its commitment to excellence, Pradhan encouraged the graduating students “to take forward their knowledge, creativity, and innovative thinking to drive meaningful change in their communities and beyond.”
Pankaj Patel, President of Gujarat Law Society, also shared his words of wisdom, acknowledging the pivotal role GLS University plays in shaping students’ careers and contributing to India’s intellectual and professional landscape. He congratulated the graduates and expressed immense pride in the university’s recent achievements, which speaks volumes about the institution’s quality of education.

Sudhir Nanavati, President of GLS University, delivered an inspiring speech, reflecting on the university’s transformative journey. Quoting from his rich experience in the legal profession and the education sector, Sudhir Nanavati has exhorted the students “not to cross the Laxman Rekha for short-term gains but always uphold the integrity which will give you permanent success in life and career.”
Dr. Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director of GLS University, delivered a heartfelt address, expressing her immense pride in the achievements of the students and the university. Dr. Kapadia highlighted the importance of leadership and education in shaping the future. She also recognized the inspiring contributions of Justice C.K. Thakker and Poest Tushar Shukla, both of whom were awarded Honorary Doctorates during the ceremony for their unparalleled contributions to law & Education and Gujarati arts & literature respectively.
Justice C.K. Thakker inspired all, especially those in the legal profession, as he reminded them of the profound responsiblity they hold in shaping the law with fairness and wisdom.
Tushar Shukla, recognized with an Honorary Doctorate for his extraordinary contributions to Gujarati literature and culture, shared his journey as a poet, lyricist, and broadcaster. His works, which span across poetry, essays, and songs, have influenced countless generations.
The 8th Convocation Ceremony of GLS University was a momentous occasion that celebrated the academic achievements of over 4700 students
During the event, 34 meritorious students were awarded Gold and Silver Medals, recognizing their outstanding academic performance. Additionally, 34 students were honored with the ‘Best Student’ Awards across various faculties such as Law, Computer Applications, IT, Management, Design, and others. The 58 doctoral students were awarded their Ph.D. degrees, completing a remarkable academic journey with rigorous research and dedication.
Devang Nanavati, Vice President of GLS University, long with the university authorities, and the Deans & Directors from various departments of the university were also present at the event.
