Governor of Tamil Nadu RN Ravi, visited Veerapandiya Kattabomman Memorial at Kayathar, Thoothukudi District on Wednesday and paid floral tributes to the Veerapandiya Kattabomman statue and memorial there, says a Raj Bhavan release.
The Governor recollected the contributions of the great freedom fighter Veerapandiya Kottabomman who fought against the British rule until his last breath in protecting our mother land. The supreme sacrifice of the great son of soil would continue in inspiring and infusing the importance of freedom India among the young generations, he said.
Laxmi Ravi, the Lady Governor also paid tributes to the martyr and the great hero of India. The Governor witnessed the photo gallery of the great leader and also penned the remarks and signed the visitors book being maintained by the Department of Information and Public Relations, Tamil Nadu at the memorial.
During his visit, Dr K Senthil Raj, IAS, District Collector, S Jeyakumar, IPS, Superintendent of Police and other officials were present.
