The second coronavirus case in Tamil Nadu was reported on Wednesday with a patient hailing from Delhi testing positive for the infection, state Health Minister C Vijaya Baskar said.

The patient hailing from New Delhi, is in isolation and stable under the observation of the expert team treating #Covid19,” the Minister said in a social media post.
Earlier on March 7, a 45-year-old engineer from the state with travel history to Oman had tested positive for the coronavirus, becoming the first COVID-19 case in Tamil Nadu. He has since recovered and expected to be discharged soon.
Acccording to the Minister, a total number of 1,89,750 passengers were screened, of which, the health department is following 2984 suspected cases. A total number of 32 persons were under admission in isolation ward, 222 sampels were tested, of this 166 reports were negative and 55 samples are under process as on Wednesday, Mr. Vijayabhaskar said in a tweet. He said the state government has a total number of 1120 isolation wards.
