The State Election Commission has allocated a common symbol of “Camera’’ to the Tamizhaga Vaazhvurimai Katchi (TVK), says a release issued by party president T. Velmurugan here on Saturday.
In a release issued here, Velmurugan said that the SEC has allocated the symbol as per the request made by the party by amending the Tamil Nadu State Local Bodies Elections Symbols (Reservation & Allotment) Order 2019 by incorporating necessary provisions under para 7 (1) C to concession to candidates set up by a party which is registered but unrecognised party in the state for the allotment of common symbol under certain conditions.
In its order, the TNSEC said that TVK is not entitled to claim any other privileges which are extended to any recognised national or state political part ies in Tamil Nadu, the release said.
