What happens when 2,700 senior citizens are given a stage, a canvas, a sporting arena and the freedom to pursue passions they have cherished for years? Tarang Utsav 2026 provided the exhilarating answer—an explosion of music, movement, creativity, laughter and camaraderie that proved emphatically that ageing is not about slowing down, but about discovering newer reasons to live life to the fullest.

Serene Communities by Columbia Pacific, a brand of Lifebridge Group and one of India’s leading senior living brands, concluded the second edition of its annual inter-community festival, Tarang Utsav, with a vibrant celebration of positive ageing on World Senior Citizens’ Day.

Launched on July 9, 2026, Tarang Utsav 2026 brought together more than 2,700 residents from Serene Communities across Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kanchipuram and Puducherry. Over several weeks, senior participants competed and collaborated across a colourful spectrum of activities, including music, dance, photography, painting, literary pursuits, indoor games and sports.

The celebrations culminated in a grand finale at Serene Amara, Chennai, where the stage belonged unequivocally to the seniors—who sang, danced, performed and competed with an infectious zest that could put many younger generations to shame.

Renowned artiste, actor and inventor Prakash Urs, known for his work in Prithvi, graced the valedictory function and lit the auspicious lamp to mark the finale. He also felicitated winners across various competitive categories along with the leadership team of Serene Communities, recognising their talent, sportsmanship, enthusiasm and wholehearted participation.

The event became more than an awards ceremony. It emerged as a celebration of the possibilities that open up when seniors are provided an environment that encourages them to remain active, creative and socially connected.

Rajagopal G, Co-Founder, Director & Group CEO, Lifebridge Group, said:

“Tarang Utsav is the ultimate expression of our core philosophy at Serene Communities, where positive ageing is a vibrant daily reality. We believe that the silver years are meant for thriving, pursuing long held passions, and boldly discovering new talents. This festival serves as a premier stage for our active seniors to showcase their incredible creativity, resilience, and vitality. Seeing the residents take centre stage to celebrate life and camaraderie is deeply inspiring, proving that with the right ecosystem, age is simply a backdrop to a fulfilling, active, and purpose driven life.”

Dr. Reema Nadig, Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer, Lifebridge Group, said Tarang Utsav was also a powerful catalyst for holistic health and active positive ageing.

“Engaging in creative arts, literary events, and sports serves as a natural prescription for well-being, significantly enhancing cognitive agility, motor skills, and emotional vitality. By providing a platform for our seniors to showcase their diverse talents and stay passionately engaged, we encourage a lifestyle centred on purpose and connection. This festival truly proves that maintaining an active mind, a creative spirit, and a strong sense of community is the cornerstone of fulfilling healthy long life.”

Vedanayaki, Head of Marketing, Lifebridge Group, said the festival brought the organisation’s #PositiveAgeing philosophy vividly to life.

“Tarang Utsav brings our philosophy of #PositiveAgeing to life, celebrating seniors for their energy, talent and enthusiasm. The spirit of participation across our communities reflects what we believe positive ageing is truly about—staying active, connected, engaged and continuing to discover new possibilities at every stage of life.”

From vocal performances and energetic dance routines to painting, photography, literature and sporting contests, Tarang Utsav 2026 showcased the remarkable diversity of interests among senior citizens.

The festival also underlined a larger message: healthy ageing is not merely about longevity—it is about the quality, purpose and joy added to those extra years.

By creating opportunities for seniors to learn, compete, perform and build friendships, Tarang Utsav fostered stronger social bonds while encouraging cognitive stimulation, emotional well-being and physical activity.

As the curtains came down on the 2026 edition, the seniors left behind more than winning performances and cherished photographs. They offered a powerful reminder to society that the silver years can be among life’s most colourful chapters—provided there is the freedom, fellowship and opportunity to make them so.
