Tata Power’s Mundra Thermal Power Station (MTPS) is transforming science and digital education in rural Gujarat with its STEM and E-Vidya Programme. Implemented across 26 schools in Mundra and Mandvi, these initiatives have empowered over 3,000 students from underserved communities by introducing them to project-based learning, digital literacy, and artificial intelligence—building a strong foundation for future careers in science and technology.

Designed for students from Classes 6 to 10, the STEM Programme introduces experiential learning that emphasizes real-world application of scientific principles. Students participate in hands-on projects designed to spark curiosity and build critical thinking skills. This approach has led to a visible academic shift in the region, with a growing number of students now opting for science streams—an encouraging trend in communities where arts and commerce traditionally dominated.
The STEM programme is tailored for rural schools that often lack access to modern laboratories and teaching aids. By bringing interactive, practical science modules directly into classrooms, the initiative addresses these gaps and ensures inclusive access to quality education. This educational transformation is being widely appreciated by teachers, school leaders, and the local community alike.

To further support digital inclusion, the team has launched E-Vidya, a comprehensive digital literacy programme that complements STEM learning with structured training in computer skills, internet safety, and ethical digital behavior. The programme delivers 15 STEM and 15 digital literacy modules, combining technical education with essential digital life skills. E-Vidya covers these foundational topics using custom-designed booklets, interactive worksheets, and tech-enabled training sessions to engage students effectively.
One of the most innovative aspects of E-Vidya is the “AI Around Us” module. This module introduces the concept of artificial intelligence in a simple and relatable manner, helping students understand how AI is integrated into everyday life. By demystifying emerging technologies, the programme inspires students to consider careers in future-ready fields like AI, robotics, and data science.

Through this integrated approach, Tata Power’s Mundra thermal power station is not only enhancing traditional classroom education but also bridging the rural-urban digital divide. Together, the Club Enerji STEM Programme and E-Vidya are driving meaningful change—cultivating digital confidence, sparking a passion for science, and equipping students with the skills they need to thrive in tomorrow’s world.
Mundra thermal power station, a key operational hub in Tata Power’s national energy network, remains committed to sustainable community development. With a focus on education, health, and digital inclusion, the company’s CSR efforts continue to create long-term social impact in Gujarat. These educational initiatives are a testament to Tata Power’s vision of empowering rural youth and building a more inclusive, tech-enabled future.
