Thanks to the team work of the cast and crew, Vijay Antony’s political thriller ‘Kodiyil Oruvan’ released in theatres across the globe on September 17 was a box office hit. People from all walks of life and families throng theatres in large numbers to enjoy the film which explicitly exhibits the day to day problems faced by the downtrodden living in slum clearance board flats in Kannagi Nagar on the southern outskirts and Ezhil Nagar in north Chennai, said director Anandakrishnan on Wednesday.
Mothers play an important role in the life of their children. Their motivational stories, inspirational talks and above all giving a conducive atmosphere for education by sacrificing a lot make their children ideal citizen. With this plot, the director has done a marvelous job.
Addressing to thank the media and audience for the success of the film, the young director said a freewheel conversation with the veteran CPI (M) leader Balabarathi had ignited him to write this story of the ‘political thriller’ mixed with mother sentiment.
The film produced by T D Raja of Chendur Film International and released on its own in association with the Kamal Bohra and Dhanajayan of Infiniti Film Ventures was widely accepted by the people.
While thanking the media and public for the overwhelming, its producer T D Raja said that we had planned to finish the shooting and post production works within six months, but we were unable to do so, due to the first wave followed by the second wave. Though it took nearly 20 months to finish the project, we were very particular in releasing the film in theatres. The film was a great success than we expected, Raja added.
Dhananjayan of Infinity Ventures said that the film made the audience to visit the theatres after the second wave of coronavirus. The political thriller broke all barriers and brought more number of people to the theatres. Four more films are in the offing from the house of Infinity Film Ventures. Production of the one of the film is over and at any time it would be released, he added.
Expressing his profound thanks to the media and audience for the success of the film, Kamal Bohra of Infinity Film Ventures said, “Though I am a Marwari, I am a Tamilian by birth. I was born and brought up here. We will continue to produce maximum number of Tamil films in future.’’
Actor Vijay Antony alias Vijayaraghavan said the hero of the thanks-giving function was the director of the film Anandakrishnan. Credit for the success of any film should go to the concerned directors and not the artistes, Antony added. Vijay Antony wished director Anandakrishnan to achieve greater heights and one day he would direct films of leading actors Vijay and Ajith.
