AHMEDABAD, APRIL 11
Technogreen Recycling Pvt Ltd, a leading player in the recycling business, inaugurated its new recycling facility that will more than double its capacity, on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami on Sunday.
The recycling facility, having a capacity of 14,400 metric tonnes per annum, has been set up at Modasar village in Sanand, at a cost of Rs 5-6 crore. This is the group’s second facility in Gujarat. Technogreen Group’s first facility at Dehgam in Gandhinagar district has a recycling capacity of 11,400 metric tonnes PA.
“The Sanand facility enhances Technogreen Group’s recycling capacity to 25,900 metric tonnes per annum, which is the highest in Ahmedabad and Gujarat. The new facility will allow us to cater to a larger number of clients and make a bigger contribution to environmental protection. More importantly, the facility will introduce technologies that are not available with any other recycler in Gujarat in the two next quarters,” said Shalini Singh, Founder and CEO, Technogreen Recycling.
Technogreen Recycling plans to further increase its recycling capacity very soon.
“The opportunities in the recycling business are immense and growing because of the worsening environmental challenges and growing awareness towards the need to address them on an urgent basis. Our vision is to take Technogreen to newer heights by increasing our recycling capacity and introducing the latest technologies. We are targeting an annual turnover of Rs 500 crore in the near future. We will achieve breakeven in two to three years. Already we have applied for license to Rajasthan government to set up our third plant,” said Vijaysingh Rajput, MD, Technogreen Recycling.
Technogreen also has plans to focus on precious metals recovery and rare earth metal recovery segment in the future and is in discussions with various companies to explore opportunities.
“We are already engaged in the recovery of cobalt, which is widely used in making lithium-ion batteries, at our existing facility. We want to add the capability for recovery of another rare earth metal (Neodymium), which has wide applications in hydrogenation, cracking, and alkalinization, among others, by the end of this year,” said Shalini Singh.
To a query on the safe handling of hazardous materials, Shalini Singh said that the company had already imparted training to the supervisors. They would manage the staff strength of 160 in segregating them by following all safety protocols of the industry. The company would not compromise on the safety of its staffers, she added.
According to Shalini, the metals and other materials recovered in the recycling process will be sold to companies at cheaper rate when compared to mined ones. Further, the company is delivering sustainable solutions to the environment by providing end-to-end integrated e-waste and plastic waste management solutions.
The company has 23 collection centres in Gujarat and also pan-India presence to collect electric and electronic waste.
