In a meeting that symbolized unity and inclusivity, a delegation from the Telangana Tamil Sangam met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Garu in Hyderabad on Tuesday and submitted a detailed memorandum seeking enhanced welfare, educational, and cultural support for the Tamil-speaking community residing in Telangana.

The meeting, held at the invitation of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), included BN Reddy Garu, a respected industrialist, philanthropist, and senior well-wisher of the Tamil community; Vice President P. Dharamaseelan; General Secretary S. Rajkumar; Treasurer N. Nehru Sastry; and Executive Committee Members Saravanan, Jayaprakash, Prabhu Vijayan, and A. Saravanakumar.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy lauded the Tamil community for its remarkable contribution to Telangana’s progress and cultural diversity.
“The Tamil community has been an integral part of Telangana’s growth story—from industry and education to culture and public service. Our government is committed to ensuring their welfare and preserving their language and traditions,” said the Chief Minister.
BN Reddy Garu, who has been a long-standing bridge between the Tamil and Telugu communities through his decades of social service and cultural initiatives, expressed gratitude for the Chief Minister’s receptiveness.
“The Hon’ble Chief Minister’s assurance truly reflects Telangana’s spirit of harmony and inclusiveness. We are confident that this partnership will strengthen the Tamil community’s presence in the State and open new avenues for cultural collaboration and youth development,” he said.
Vice President P. Dharamaseelan described the meeting as a milestone for the community:
“It was a moment of pride and encouragement for all Tamils in Telangana. We have requested the government to consider setting up Tamil cultural centres, offering scholarships to Tamil students, and including Tamil festivals in the official cultural calendar,” he said.
General Secretary S. Rajkumar added that the Sangam has been actively promoting Tamil welfare and culture across Telangana:
“Through literary events, Pongal celebrations, youth leadership programs, and women’s empowerment workshops, the Telangana Tamil Sangam has worked tirelessly for community development. With the State Government’s support, we aim to expand these activities further,” he said.
Over the years, the Telangana Tamil Sangam has become a vibrant cultural institution, conducting Tamil language classes, blood donation drives, inter-state cultural festivals, and educational assistance initiatives that celebrate Tamil heritage while promoting social harmony in Telangana.
The delegation termed the meeting with the Chief Minister a “proud and significant moment”, reaffirming the community’s commitment to work closely with the State for shared growth and cultural enrichment.
