Pudukkottai Dist Vijay Makkal Iyakkam on Sunday announced that it has opened a water tank, and a food bank for monkeys in Pudukkottai.
⇑Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com Pudukkottai Dist Vijay Makkal Iyakkam president J Parvesh said, “Around 300 monkeys reside in and around Sri 54 Aanjaneyar Temple which is situated near Pudukkottai Government Medical College.
Owing to corona-induced lockdown and the scorching summer they have been facing food and water problems. To resolve these issues, we have built a new water tank and set-up a food bank filled with fruits like banana, watermelon and nuts. A special abhishekam was also performed to the main deity Anjaneyar.”
Sivaganga dist in-charge and members of Pudukkottai Dist Vijay Makkal Iyakkam were present in large numbers in support of these initiatives.
