The Collegiate Women’s Development Cell (CWDC) of CC Sheth College of Commerce organized a two-day Lippan Art Workshop on 12th and 13th February. The workshop aimed to introduce students to Lippan art, a traditional mural art form from Kutch, Gujarat, known for its unique use of clay and mirror work.

The sessions were conducted by Jyoti Thakkar, Vice President of Mahila Swavlamban Kendra, Naroda, Ahmedabad. On Day 1, Thakkar shared the history and cultural significance of Lippan art and provided hands-on training in preparing the base and working with clay and mirrors.

Day 2 was dedicated to practical application, where students created their own Lippan art pieces. Under Thakkar’s guidance, they explored different patterns and designs, bringing their creativity to life. The workshop concluded with a display of the completed artworks and a discussion where participants shared their experiences.

The workshop was an engaging and enriching experience, giving students an opportunity to learn and preserve a beautiful traditional art form. CWDC’s initiative was well-received, with many participants expressing interest in similar workshops in the future.
