“The greatest source of energy in the world is the ENERGY OF THE PATRIOTIC YOUTH, and India is a young country,” declared Mukesh D. Ambani, Chairman & MD of Reliance Industries and President & Chair of the Board of Governors, Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), as he delivered a stirring and deeply personal address at the university’s 13th Convocation Ceremony on Wednesday.

Speaking to graduating students, faculty, parents and dignitaries, Ambani described PDEU as a “sacred shrine” he has served since 2007. Reaffirming his emotional commitment, he said, “Iss Mandir ki sthapana se main yahan seva karte aayaa hoon, harek saal.”
He paid glowing tribute to , recChief Guest Sudhir Mehtaalling shared decades of institution-building and calling him “a role model for entrepreneurs,” while urging the students to follow his path.
Ambani lauded PDEU’s academic progress, scientific recognition, patents and innovation ecosystem. Calling the university’s achievements a fulfilment of his promise to the Prime Minister, he assured, “We are even more determined to do better, and make India prouder and PDEU greater, in the years to come.”
In a sweeping macro outlook, Ambani contrasted the world’s low growth with India’s “hope and self-confidence,” saying: “A decade ago, the rest of India was talking about Vibrant Gujarat. Today, the rest of the world is talking about a Vibrant India.”
He urged India’s youth to lead the race in AI, new energy, fusion technologies, space, biotech and future sciences, invoking the cinematic spirit: “JO JEETA WOHI SIKANDAR!”
Under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership, he said with conviction:
“Bharat Jeetega. Bharat Aage Badhega. Bharat Duniya Ko Badalega.”
Ambani called upon PDEU to become one of the world’s best universities in green energy, materials and the green economy, asking students, researchers and faculty: “Yes or No?” — receiving a thunderous “YES!” from the audience.
Reaffirming Reliance Foundation’s commitment, he said they had contributed Rs 150 crore over the past decade.
Addressing graduates, Ambani spoke of joy, pride and possibilities, and introduced four “lifelong companions” — Curiosity, Courage, Perseverance, and Gratitude. On the relevance of questioning in the AI era, he remarked: “ChatGPT can give you answers, but only you can ask the right questions.”
Quoting Ramakrishna Paramahansa — “The tree laden with fruits always bends low” — Ambani reminded students that humility is the hallmark of true success.
Ending with a blessing charged with warmth, he said: “May your future be bright, impactful and full of joy… and we at PDEU will always cheer you lifelong.”
He concluded with “Jai Hind” and “Jaishree Krishna.”
