The glory of Lord Shri Ram is also being spread in the India and the world through postal stamps. Along with India, more than 20 countries of the world have issued postage stamps from time to time on the various characters and stories related to Ramayana. That means Ram Rajya is visible even on postal stamps in whole world.

Postmaster General of North Gujarat Region, Ahmedabad Krishna Kumar Yadav said on Ramanavami, that before the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a set of 6 commemorative postage stamps on ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple’ on January 18, 2024. “These include postage stamps issued on Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman, Jatayu, Kevatraj and Mata Shabari along with Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. To make this occasion historic, stamps have been printed with chandan fragnance, gold foil along with divine water and soil of Ayodhya. The design of stamps depicts panch mahbootas. Components of the design include the Ram Mandir, Choupai ‘Mangal Bhavan Amangal Hari’, Sun, Sarayu River and Sculptures in and around the Temple,” said Yadav. These stamps are available for sale in the Philatelic Bureau of Ahmedabad GPO.

Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav said that even before this, India Post had released a set of 11 commemorative stamps depicting important episodes of Ramayana on September 22, 2017. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released it at Tulsi Manas Temple, Varanasi. These stamps include attractive scenes of Sita Swayamvar, Ram’s exile, Bharat Milap, Kevat incident, Jatayu dialogue, Shabari dialogue, Hanuman-Sita dialogue in Ashok Vatika, construction of Ram Setu, Hanuman carrying Sanjivani, killing of Ravana and Lord Ram’s ascension to the throne. Looking at these stamps, one feels as if the entire Ram Rajya has appeared on the postage stamps. To make the Bhoomi Pujan and foundation stone laying program of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Ayodhya unforgettable, Prime Ministeri Narendra Modi had released a customized postal stamp based on the ‘Icon of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple’ in Ayodhya on August 5, 2020.

Postmaster General K K Yadav said that the Department of Posts issues various stamps to connect people with their culture, history and heritage. In this sequence, stamps issued on ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple’ to various episodes of Ramayana, have also been included, so that the young generation can become aware of their culture through postage stamps. These postage stamps will be affixed on letters and also go to abroad, where they will spread the story of Ramayana to the people.
