“The construction industry is predominantly seen as a male-centric industry, but there are many power women in this tough industry, who are working their way up and making a mark for themselves. The Real Woman Awards are aimed at recognising and honouring dynamic women in the construction industry,” said Sheetal Bhilkar, Director, UBSC.
Though just three editions old, The Real Woman awards have emerged as prestigious and much-coveted awards in the construction industry. In the first season, 26 women entrepreneurs from Mumbai were recognised, and in the second season, 30 women from Pune were feted.
“Ahmedabad is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country and the real estate sector is proving to be one of the drivers of the city’s growth. Needless to mention, many women are playing an important role in the growth of the construction industry and the overall economy. We congratulate all the power women for the well-deserved awards that are a fitting tribute to their achievements,” said Vijay Dalwani, Director, Harmony Talent & Event.
Hailing the women achievers for breaking the glass ceilings, Tara Subramaniam, Chairperson of NAREDCO and founder president of Naredco MAHI, the women’s wing of Naredco, said, “I wish that more and more women should join in this male-centric sector. As professionals, women in the real estate sector should think of modern and progressive ways for driving the sector towards growth. There is a need for sustainable and climate conscious practices. With real estate contributing to 20 percent of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, we can no longer turn a blind eye to the matter and must take more assertive steps for adoption of green building practices. I urge all the awardees to plant more trees and nurture them well as a token of paying back to the society.”
In addition to recognition within and outside the real estate industry, the winners of The Real Woman awards get exclusive membership in the Real Woman community.
