AHMEDABAD, JULY 3
Every woman should be mentally fit and financially sound to fight her own life’s battles. Always enhance your ability rather than limiting yourself in one circle, said the beauty with brains and multi-talented Bollywood actor Ameesha Patel.
She was speaking at a webinar on “The Untold Story with Ameesha Patel” hosted by FICCI FLO Ahmedabad chapter and moderated by FLO chairperson. Taruna Patel on Tuesday.
FLO Secretary Aditi Parekh, in her introductory speech, said, “Ameesha Patel is a talented actress, known as “the beauty with brains” in the film industry. She debuted in the film world with the blockbuster movie “Kaho NaaPyar Hai” in 2000. In 2001, she acted in another blockbuster movie “Gadar Ek Prem Katha” in the lead role which got her much appreciation and recognition. Her journey from Kaho Na Pyaar Hai to Gadar to Bhul Bhulaiyya can vouch for her acting talent. Though she is well-known as a Bollywood actress, very few are aware that she is a Gold Medalist in Economics & has also worked with a well-known economic analyst when the stock market was migrating from manual to digital.
“Ameesha’s entry into Bollywood was by accident though it became her profession later on. She is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and has participated in many plays in her school days. She always felt with the blend of strong roots from Gujarat & Maharashtra, she manages to preserve and sustain her beliefs, values, and ethics.”
During the session, she shared memories of her childhood when she used to spend her vacation with her grandparents in Gujarat.
While in conversation, Ameesha Patel said, “With times, Bollywood has changed a lot, now women are not limited only with acting, or to just flaunt her outer beauty on screens; however, women are getting involved in other jobs as well such as assistant director, cinematographer, editor, scriptwriter & many more. Every woman should be financially independent.”
She further stated, “Honesty has given me the strength to stay stable throughout my career.” While talking about nepotism, she said, “Sushant Singh Rajput could have fought for himself on nepotism with his success, but unfortunately he committed suicide without giving a fight. I would like to give a message to our youth generation that smoking, alcohol, and drugs can never give you a solution to come out from any depression. Also, these things should not be used to just maintain your status, in peer pressure. Your confidence and mental fitness will actually help to fight for your struggle in life.”
FLO Ahmedabad Chairperson Taruna Patel announced Ameesha’s production house -Ameesha Patel Productions, will help to uplift young & new talent in the industry.
Purva Damani gave the vote of thanks.
