In an in-depth interaction with the young achievers, Governor, in reply to a question, said, “To face a difficult task in front of you, take it as a challenge, and then work hard with dedication and commitment to overcome it.”
He said, “Our country is growing fast. Nine years ago, we were the tenth largest economy; now we are the fifth largest economy, and soon we will be at number three. Our country is awake with confidence. The energy, which was inert, is now unleashed in every field.”
He exemplified it with the rising medal tally in sports and the Olympics. “In startups, we are leading the world. Our target is 2047, and we are in the Amrit Kaal, as called by our Prime Minister, rejuvenating our Nation. Our youth are the protagonists of this transformation,” the Governor added.
The governor told students that “When you face any challenging question in the exam, don’t get panic. Face the question with a smile because there is nothing beyond what you have studied in the syllabus. Never allow your questions or problems to be larger than you. As an individual, you have infinite capacity. Many times, we are not aware of it, often we get daunted by tough situations. The confidence you possess will make your problem small.”
He cited a verse from Bhagwat Geeta, which says “We are our best friend and our worst enemy. The moment you lose confidence, the problem will rise and intimidate you.”
He also advised the students that “Do not regret on your decision, even if you have setbacks. Learn lessons from them, and imbibe them for your future endeavour and move ahead.
In reply to a question, the Governor said, “We are generally grateful to those who are good to us. That is what we must do. It is one of the most precious virtues. We all have it, but we must consciously express it. He further said that we should also be grateful to our adversaries; if they had not opposed you, then you would not have had the opportunity to take it as a challenge and move forward.”
Giving an example of this, he said that gold shines when put on fire.
The Governor also mentioned that our present generation has far more exposure to knowledge and has more opportunities to grow.
“The challenge today is distraction and lack of focus. The gadgets available are good tools, and because there are so many options available, it is a major cause of distraction, resulting in stunted individual growth. He advised the youth not to get too attached to their devices. The digital distractions also affect your concentration. Restrict its use and use it judiciously,” the Governor said.
He further advised students to listen to their parents. He said, “They, parents, are your well-wishers. The parents have gone through that phase of life where the students are now, and possess greater experience and knowledge of the world. If the children have a different opinion, then respectfully express their views to their parents.”
In reply to a question on artificial intelligence ruling human beings, the Governor said humans have created AI, which is a very powerful tool. Humans have the capacity to control it.
The Governor mentioned time as the most precious asset, and advised students to make the best use of it. Also, advised them to have efficient time management. While talking about power of concentration, he recommended meditation as a strong way to increase focus and raise concentration, which will grow with practice.
In his words for the parents, the Governor said, “Your children are national assets and it is your duty to make sure that the children must grow to their full capacity. Parenting is a big responsibility, especially in today’s time where there are so many modes of distraction. You must inspire them to achieve more in life. The children are in a tender age without having a sense of right and wrong, which can only come with time. Parents must learn to say no to their children for those things that can stunt their growth. If too much pampered, the children may lose their tract.”
He asked the parents to help and support their children by encouraging them with positivity in the qualities they are growing up with.
On this occasion, Young Achievers along with their family members officials and staff of Raj Bhavan were present.
