The campus of Delhi Public School Bopal came alive with colour, music and youthful enthusiasm as students from Junior KG to Grade-2 presented a spectacular Parents’ Day celebration titled “Kalanjali” for the academic year 2025-26.
Held on March 6, the event showcased the talent, confidence and creativity of the school’s foundational stage learners, transforming the stage into a vibrant platform of learning and expression.

The programme began with a graceful ceremonial inauguration symbolising unity in diversity, setting the tone for an evening that celebrated not only performances but also the deeper bond between parents, teachers and students.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Sabina Sawhney highlighted the importance of parental involvement in a child’s growth.
“Parents are the first mentors in a child’s life. When schools and families walk together, learning becomes meaningful, joyful and lifelong,” she said, urging parents to actively participate in their children’s educational journey.
A Rhythm of Joy
The highlight of the celebration was “Jhankar – The Rhythm of Joy,” presented by students of Junior KG, Senior KG and Balvatika.
The programme began with a divine Shiv Vandana, followed by energetic segments such as Fitness Funda, the nostalgic Ties that Bind, patriotic performances, a tribute to the Indian women’s cricket team, and a colourful Bollywood Tadka.
For the Junior KG students, the performance marked their first-ever stage appearance, making the occasion particularly memorable for both children and parents.

Reviving India’s Timeless Stories
The Grade 1 annual cultural programme “Anugoonj”, meaning echo, carried the theme “Reviving Roots.”
Through powerful storytelling and performances, children brought to life inspiring tales from Indian tradition that are rarely retold today.
Characters such as Eklavya, Narasimha, Shravan Kumar, and Meera Bai were portrayed on stage, highlighting values of dedication, courage, devotion and unwavering faith.
A Journey Through the Gita
For Grade 2 students, the theme “The Gita Way – A Journey Within” offered a thoughtful exploration of timeless philosophical lessons from the Bhagavad Gita.
Through imaginative performances, students depicted characters such as Ravana and Duryodhana, demonstrating how ego, jealousy and uncontrolled desires can lead to downfall.
The performances conveyed deeper insights — that the mind can be both friend and enemy, self-control is the true strength and every action shapes one’s destiny.
Every Child a Star
A special highlight of Kalanjali was the school’s commitment to 100% participation, reflecting its philosophy of “No Child Left Behind.”
Each student took the stage with enthusiasm, making the celebration a joyful display of confidence, teamwork and creative learning.
The event ultimately became more than a cultural programme — it was a heartwarming celebration of childhood, values and the shared journey of education between parents, teachers and students.
