The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin announces holiday for all educational institutions for the next two days (Monday and Tuesday). Holidays declared due to heavy to very heavy rain forecast for four districts – Chennai, Tiruvallore, Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu here on Sunday.

மழை வெள்ளப் பாதிப்புகளைச் சீர்செய்ய அரசு நிர்வாகம் முழுமையாக முடுக்கிவிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

சென்னை, காஞ்சி, செங்கல்பட்டு, திருவள்ளூர் மாவட்டங்களில் 2 நாட்களுக்குப் பள்ளி, கல்லூரிகளுக்கு விடுமுறை அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. சென்னை திரும்புவோர் தங்கள் பயணத் திட்டத்தை 2-3 நாட்கள் தள்ளிப்போடவும். pic.twitter.com/NiXONEGz0k

The Chief Minister who personally inspected the flood affected areas in the city announces the holiday following the IMD forecast.

Addressing reporters after visiting the affected areas with the Municipal Administration and Rural Development Minister K N Nehru, the Chief Minister M K Stalin appeals the people to return to Chennai after 3 days.

He also said that special teams from NDRF have been sent to Madurai, Chengalpattu, neighbouring Tiruvallore and Chennai city.

Relief centres were established in flood affected areas.

People can contact the state-level control room at the toll-free number 1087 for any emergency, the Chief Minister added.
